Every fall the purplish leaves turned bright red and almost on cue

I can only describe it as an auspicious masterpiece

as did the proud owners of these fine birds

representing the abundant seed pods found hidden behind the heart shaped leaves

It grew lush around our workshop, framing our studio entrance with magenta blossoms and a sweet fragrance. Creating lush fencerows, these shrubs grow curiously close to the shore, seeming to drink from the salty Caribbean. The leaves, thick and leathery with distinct veins, are toxic if consumed, but a beautiful motif to design into
